911, ER, or urgent care?
Call 911
Signs of stroke or heart attack, severe bleeding, trouble breathing, major trauma, loss of consciousness. Do not drive yourself.
Emergency room
Serious but stable: deep cuts, possible fractures, high fever in infants, severe pain. ERs treat the sickest first, not the first in line.
Urgent care
Minor illness and injury after hours: sprains, mild fevers, stitches, infections. Far faster and cheaper for the small stuff.
